Focus Session

💻 Meaning and direction to your life.

Therapy for living with intention and clarity

A conversation to better understand a question related to psychology. If I had to explain this service in two words, they would be: personalized psychoeducation

There are times when you don't want to start therapy.

What you need is to understand.

Perhaps you've just received a diagnosis of ADHD or OCD. Perhaps your child is being evaluated. Or maybe someone close to you has started talking about autism, and you realize you have a lot of questions and too much information.

The Focus Session was created for those moments.

It is an individual and personalized conversation to better understand a topic related to mental health, neurodivergence or identity from a rigorous and close psychological perspective.

For one hour, we focus on a single question. We talk, connect ideas, and provide context so you can leave with a deeper understanding and reliable resources to continue exploring the topic.

The Focus Session does not replace a diagnostic assessment. It is a space for understanding, not for diagnosing.

For whom does it make sense?

A Focus Session can be a good option if you come with a specific question like these:

  • You have received a diagnosis of ADHD, OCD, or autism and want to better understand what it means for you.
  • Your son or daughter has just received a diagnosis or is in the process of being evaluated and you would like to better understand what they are going through.
  • Do you want to better understand how OCD, perfectionism, anxiety, or neurodivergence work from a psychological perspective?.
  • You are accompanying someone important to you and you want to do it with more understanding and less confusion.
  • You want to understand how migration or living between cultures can influence identity.
  • You want reliable resources on a specific psychological topic without having to spend hours scrolling to find something of quality.

Some questions we could explore

  • What changes when you receive an ADHD diagnosis in adulthood?
  • What is the difference between perfectionism and OCD?
  • What does masking really mean?
  • How does your identity change when you discover you are neurodivergent?
  • What does my son or daughter's diagnosis stir up in me?
  • How can I better understand what someone close to me is going through without trying to fix everything?
  • What does it mean to accompany without losing myself in the process?
  • How does living between cultures influence the way I perceive myself?
  • Why is it so hard to feel at home anywhere?

If your question isn't listed here, don't worry. We can assess whether this format suits your needs before you book.

Before booking

To protect this space, all applications go through a brief preliminary review.

I will ask you to tell me what question you would like to explore and what you would like to take away from the session. I will personally read your message and confirm whether a Focus Session is the most appropriate format for that question.

How does it work?

Before

You will fill out a short form with the question you would like to explore. I will read your message before our meeting to prepare for the conversation.

During

A 60-minute online session focused on a single question.

After

In the following days you will receive your “Focus Notebook”, a document prepared specifically for you that will include:

  • The main ideas of our conversation.
  • Key concepts to further understand the topic.
  • Resources selected according to your question.
  • A thought-provoking question so you can return to this conversation whenever you need to.

If at the end you feel you would like to continue exploring this in more depth, we can talk about what a therapeutic process would be like.

It includes the initial review of your consultation, the individual session, and the personalized Focus Notebook.

One last thing…

There are questions that find their place in a conversation like this.

Others need more time.

If, after reading your form, I believe that another form of support might better meet your needs, I will tell you honestly before confirming the booking.
