In this post I want to introduce you to the book “Experiences in Cyberpsychology: Towards a New Era of Psychology”, published in February 2022 and edited by UNAM and the Faculty of Higher Studies of Zaragoza. The result is a collaborative project in which I am extremely pleased to participate.
This book is intended for psychology students as well as colleagues dedicated to the study and care of mental health. In the words of the coordinators, this book represents "a look at the use of technology in mental health care, the digital individual, and its application in family, school, and behavioral relationships."
And indeed, throughout its 11 chapters, we find reflections, research, and experiences from international professionals. Each chapter recounts, from very diverse perspectives, how technology and virtuality impact us and the way we interact with the world.
In this book on cyberpsychology, you can find different topics such as:
- What are the main technologies at the service of mental health?
- the skills needed for psychology training today
- What is the online disinhibition effect?
- Psychological first aid in the digital context
- many more topics that fall within the intersection of psychology and information technologies.
My participation as co-author can be found in chapter 2, entitled “Digital Identity: Being and Being in the Online World.” Here I leave you the link for your reading.
If you enjoy psychology, especially online psychotherapy and all topics related to cyberpsychology, I highly recommend reading this book, which has been an incredible experience for me.
Happy reading!
