{"id":637,"date":"2018-01-23T16:49:44","date_gmt":"2018-01-23T15:49:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/carolinadiazruiz.com\/?p=637"},"modified":"2025-09-02T16:35:48","modified_gmt":"2025-09-02T14:35:48","slug":"sentir-ansiedad","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/carolinadiazruiz.com\/en\/sentir-ansiedad\/","title":{"rendered":"Give yourself permission to feel anxious"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Anxiety is a part of life and can lead us to take action on our problems.<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">However,<strong> When it&#039;s constant, it can be downright terrifying.<\/strong> It becomes a heavy burden that we have to carry, regardless of whether we feel strong enough or not.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">It&#039;s no surprise that anxiety is one of the most common reasons people seek <a href=\"https:\/\/carolinadiazruiz.com\/en\/empieza-aqui\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">psychological counseling.<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">As they say in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.blurtitout.org\/2017\/05\/25\/difference-depression-anxiety\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Blurt Foundation<\/a>:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">When we have anxiety, everything can feel overwhelming. We often feel nervous and stressed. Our thoughts can race, and we may feel like our reactions to everything become very extreme.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><strong>It&#039;s clear that having anxiety is difficult enough, but there&#039;s something that makes it an even harder path: guilt.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">If you tend to suffer from anxiety, you most likely know what I&#039;m talking about: <strong>feel anxious because you have been anxious for several days.<\/strong> Worrying because you worry too much. Fearing fear\u2026 and so on. <strong>Getting into this pattern causes guilt and with it, more nervousness, irritability and <a href=\"https:\/\/carolinadiazruiz.com\/en\/2017\/10\/24\/salir-bucle-mental-pensamientos-obsesivos\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">obsessive thoughts.<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><em>&quot;Why do I feel this way?&quot; &quot;Surely this isn&#039;t even a problem for others?&quot; &quot;I&#039;m too weak.&quot;<\/em> and many other irrational conclusions are some of the thoughts that can be added to whatever was causing you anxiety in the first place.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><strong>While there are many things worth saying about anxiety, I just want to leave a simple message here today:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Don&#039;t belittle yourself for feeling anxious. You&#039;re human, and therefore, sooner or later, you&#039;ll feel anxious. Give yourself that permission so you can take action instead of getting stuck in your own anguish.<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">When you&#039;re already stressed about something, the last thing you need is to go over every little thing you did or didn&#039;t do about a specific situation. <strong>You don&#039;t need your inner snobbish critic. You need a friend.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Your best bet when anxiety strikes is to treat yourself as you would a good friend: with acceptance, openness, and humor. <strong>Allowed to be anxious from time to time.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">It may not be easy at first, but give it a try. <strong>Treating yourself with kindness and respect will lead you to action.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">You may end up realizing that it is worth investing in your <a href=\"https:\/\/carolinadiazruiz.com\/en\/2017\/09\/25\/momento-de-ir-con-un-psicologo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">mental health<\/a>. You could also take the time to try some <a href=\"https:\/\/carolinadiazruiz.com\/en\/2017\/12\/19\/recursos-autoayuda\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">self-help resource<\/a>. Or pick up that lost hobby you once had. Or learn a new skill. The end result will be a certain distance between you and the anxiety, and even more importantly, <strong>Being anxious won&#039;t be what defines you.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Because we are all more than our anxiety.<\/span><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Worrying about feeling anxious often leads nowhere but to guilt.
